I like how the comic is so body-horror creepy in its details, but so wholesome in its structure: friends encounter an enemy, they wrestle with the enemy for a while, one friend saves the other and the enemy is defeated. then they walk off into the sunset.
Hey Drew! When I think of animation schools in Canada, Sheridan College in Ontario is definitely the one that comes to mind as having the best reputation. I know there is also an animation program at Emily Carr (where Tony and I met), and it's definitely geared towards storytelling and making your own original animation (Sheridan probably does that too). There are also at least a couple dedicated animation schools here, but I think they are heavily geared towards making 3D art for the gaming industry, because that's a big industry in Vancouver. And there are probably some 2-year courses at local community colleges/universities.
But yeah, I would start by looking into Sheridan, and see if it still has that reputation! I think you would definitely make a great animator.
